InvestorHub Secures $9M in Extended Series A Funding

InvestorHub, a direct-to-investor marketing platform, has closed its Series A funding round with an additional $4 million, bringing the total to $9 million. The extension round was led by EVP, with follow-on investments from Archangel Ventures and Flying Fox Ventures. This marks the second capital raise for InvestorHub in less than two years following its rebranding from Fresh Equities.

The company previously secured $4 million in May 2023 and reopened for investors after tripling its revenue over the subsequent 13 months, which sparked significant additional interest in the platform.

iLAuNCH Offers $100,000 Grants

The iLAuNCH Trailblazer program has injected another $1 million into funding the commercialization of university research for the space industry. Backed by the federal government, the program will offer seed funding grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 for proof-of-concept demonstrator technologies with commercial potential.

Applications are now open for the fund, named Fast Track, in collaboration with the University of Southern Queensland, Australian National University, and University of South Australia.

Slice Raises $7.5M in Seed Round

Slice, a fintech addressing the challenge of booking affordable holiday fares in advance, has raised $7.5 million in a Seed round, marking one of 2024’s largest Seed rounds. This is Slice’s first external capital raise after six years of bootstrapping. The round was led by Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia India), and the fintech also secured a $10 million debt facility from Melbourne-based alternative asset management firm Roadnight Capital.

Sindy Labs Joins UC Berkeley SkyDeck Accelerator with $300,000 Funding

Sindy Labs, a startup focused on monitoring university student learning, has been accepted into the University of California, Berkeley’s SkyDeck accelerator program. As part of the deal, Sindy Labs will receive US$200,000 (A$305,000) in funding.

Founded by former University of Melbourne medical student Benjamin Arya, Taha Ansari, and Oliver Cucanic, Sindy Labs aims to enhance the educational experience for students through innovative learning assessments.
