The National Police have issued a warning about the circulation of counterfeit 100 euros banknotes in Tenerife , targeting the Carnival celebrations in particular.
Traders are advised to check the authenticity of all notes they receive whatever the value.
Local police initially detected the movement of the false hundred euro banknotes and National Police have launched an investigation during the last few days.
If you do spot a counterfeit, the Police advise you to remain calm, avoid confrontation, and call 091 straight away.
