The Tenerife Cabildo Councillor for Economic Development, Trade and Employment, Efraín Medina, says the presence of the Tenerife contingent at the Madrid International Fashion show last weekend was a huge success.
“We must continue to be present at such fairs to seek new markets, strengthen markets which are already open and to increase the volume of sales year after year.” said Medina.
Ten companies which produce garments under the brand “Made in Spain”, which belongs to the Tenerife Moda group attended the show.
Fashion made in Tenerife is an industry that generates nearly 500 direct jobs.
Attending were; Marco Marrero and Maria Díaz (MYM), Lu A, which has signed an agreement with the Miss Universe organization in Spain, Juan Carlos Armas, Magdala jewelery, Lucia de Su, Il Ciclamino, Morena Mia
Culito and Arena Negra bikinis and swimwear.
Also attending was Maika Ayong, a young designer who came to prominence through the Young Designers Contest organized by Tenerife Moda.
