For hundreds of years Passion Plays have been performed over the Easter weekend throughout the Christian world – and Tenerife is no exception.
Most well known in the south, is the street extravaganza in Adeje which every year attracts thousands of residents and holidaymakers to watch a realistic re-enactment of the days leading up to Christ’s crucifixion. The event starts at midday on Good Friday 21st March 2008.
Less well known to visitors but equally worthy of a visit is the Santiago del Teide Passion Play held on Saturday 22 March and starting at 8pm. There is seating but the Farmers Market is open to the elements so wrap up warm its cold in them thar hills! Read more about Tenerife’s Passion Plays
