The Met Office has issued an orange weather alert (significant risk) for today for La Palma, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
Weathermen are warning of torrential rain in places accompanied by very strong winds of up to 100 kmh.
Experts warn that some areas could see up to 60 litres per square metre of rain in just 12 hours.
