Latest figures reveal that 10 people died on Spain’s roads over last weekend between 3pm Friday and 8pm Sunday.
The highest death toll occurred on Sunday when six people lost their lives in five accidents across the country.
The latest figures brought the death toll for September to 139, one fewer than the corresponding month last year.
Although tragic, figures for the year to September are also down on last year with 1,021 fatalities, 102, (around 10 per cent) fewer than the same period in 2011.
