British Consulates launch on-line notarial booking service
The British Consulates in the Canary Islands have today launched a brand new on-line service for customers to use in order to book appointments for notarial services.
This service will allow customers to book their appointments from the comfort of their own homes at any time of the day and receive immediate confirmation.
The British Consulates in Tenerife, Las Palmas, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote (as well as in Portugal) are the first among all British consular missions abroad to pilot this on-line booking system. If this proves successful, we expect the Canary Islands’ experience to be replicated by British Consulates in other countries.
The type of notarial services provided by the British Consulates include taking oaths or affirmations, notices of marriage and others.
For some time notarial services have been carried out on an appointment basis at our surgeries in Fuerteventura and Lanzarote and at our Little Shop in Tenerife South. This meant sending an email and waiting for a reply or calling the Consular enquiry number. Now to make things easier for all our customers booking an appointment is literally just a click away.
The on-line service includes easy to follow links to the respective Consulates on the website www.ukinspain.fco.gov.uk . Each consulate has its own site with its own calendar but once customers have registered, they can choose any of the other British Consulates in the country if that is more convenient for them.
The registration part is extremely straightforward as only an email address and mobile phone number is required. Then it is just a case of choosing the service required, clicking on the available day and time and clicking send. The confirmation email will come immediately and a reminder will be sent out at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. Customers can even save their appointment on their outlook calendar to keep things organised.
