As you may be aware, registering as a resident in Spain does not mean you are automatically registered for free, public healthcare. There are many ways to register for healthcare as a resident but unfortunately there are still many people who are registered incorrectly, or who are not registered at all. You never know when you might need to call on a doctor, or pay a visit to A&E, so browse our website http://ukinspain.fco.gov.uk/en/help-for-british-nationals/living-in-spain/pensions-benefits/healthcare/, and the NHS choices website (www.nhs.uk) and make sure, this year, you are registered should the need arise, ensuring a healthy and happy new year for you and your family.
The Partners’ Newsletter from the British Consular Network in Spain will now be published on a quarterly basis. The next edition will therefore be published in April. In the meantime, keep an eye on our website as this will be updated with any news and upcoming events as and when applicable.
Please also remember that the newsletter is designed with your community in mind. If there is a topic you would like to see covered in a future newsletter, and it comes under the British Consulate Network’s remit, please let us know at this email Enquiries.Social-Sec.Spain@fco.gov.uk and we will consider it for a future edition.
