More Arrests In The Battle Against Child Pornography

January 9, 2013

National Police officers have arrested thirteen people across Spain while eleven others, including two women, could face charges in the latest operation in the battle against internet pornography involving children.

Operation “Destiny” uncovered a web of 23,000 net addresses and led to raids in which 20 properties were searched across 15 provinces, including one in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The raids netted a haul of various pieces of computer equipment including 55 hard drives, five computers, 34 portable flash drives, as well as DVDs, CDs and memory cards.

Despite another major success in their on-going battle against the paedophiles, police said the war goes on, made more difficult by the use of peer-to-peer networks, making it more difficult to track down offenders.
