Live Arico Pets Animal Welfare Supporters (PAWS)

January 9, 2013

Firstly, a Happy New Year to all our supporters, new and old, may 2013

bring you all you wish for, and more.

We were once again asked to pack bags in Iceland Las Chafiras for 3 days on Xmas week, which we were more than happy to do after previous years have proved lucrative. As we no longer have the refuge, we thought it fitting to share the wealth with other animal welfare Associations, and from the total collected (a fantastic €1181) we have already made a €400 donation to SOS Peludos, and €100 to both K9 and Cats Welfare. SOS Peludos are a small Association on the north of the island who help with rehoming as well providing support to refuges. In fact, they collected almost a month’s worth of food for Live Arico back in the summer, and this was just a small way of thanking them for that gesture. In the next few days we will also be making a donation to Esperanza del Sur. A big thanks to Iceland for giving us the opportunity to do this. Although the amount collected was fantastic, as important to us were the lovely comments and words of support we received. This was heart warming to say the least. Thanks to all of you for keeping the faith, we won’t let you down.

We also sent food last month to the value of €2887 to our dogs in Fasnia, and we are happy to report that our vet Cesar Bertoldi is co ordinating heart worm tests for the Fasnia dogs, which we will be happy to pay for.

The 2013 calendars sold more than 220 copies, so many thanks to all who bought one. There are still a hand full left in the shops, if youre quick, you might just be able to grab one before they are gone.

On Saturday the 16th February we will be having a Fun Dog Show on the car park of the Xtreme Gym in Las Chafiras, from 2pm.
