The Met Office say recent high temperatures in the Canary Islands, which have prompted orange and yellow alerts across the archipelago, will remain until at least Wednesday.
Worst affected will continue to be Gran Canaria, where temperatures will peak at 39 C, except in the north of the island, while El Hierro and La Gomera are also on orange alert.
Weathermen say temperatures should begin to fall from Wednesday across the archipelago.
