An 80-year-old man died yesterday after being run over by a car in Puerto de la Cruz.
Emergency services were called to the scene, in the centre of the town, at around 5.30pm.
The victim was found to have suffered head injuries and had gone into cardiac arrest and, despite their best efforts, medics were unable to revive him and he was declared dead at the scene.
