Clocks Go Back This Weekend

October 27, 2012

Don’t forget, the clocks go back this weekend.

Unlike the rest of Spain, which adheres to European Summer time, the Canary Islands are on the same time as the UK and, like Britain, the islands will revert to GMT.

The clocks go back at 2:00am  on Sunday October 28, so everyone can enjoy an extra hour in bed. But don’t get too excited because you have to give it back next spring when the clocks go forward again.

Clocks always change at 2:00 am Central European Time (CET) or 3:00 am. Central European Summer Time (CEST). CET is one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)/Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)

Confused? Well for anyone out there who can never remember their forwards and backwards, try this. The clocks Spring forward and Fall back (Fall being the American autumn).
