This year’s winter cruise season is in full swing in the Islands bringing huge benefits to the port and city of Santa Cruz, Tenerife.
This week sees the arrival of almost 20,000 passengers, starting tomorrow, (Tuesday) with the arrival of the ‘Adventure of the Seas’, carrying 3,200 passengers and more than 1,000 crew and the more modest ‘Ocean Countess’ with 800 passengers and 450 crew.
Friday of this week actually marks the official start of the cruise season and will be celebrated in Tenerife by the arrival of three cruise ships, the ‘Thomson Dream’, the ‘Costa Mediterránea’ and the ‘Celebrity Eclipse’, carrying between them more than 9,500 passengers and crew.
Meanwhile, Saturday will see the arrival of 5,600 passengers aboard the ‘AidaSol’ in the morning and the ‘Ryndam’ at noon, while finally, on Sunday, the port will welcome the ‘Arcadia’, with 2,000 passengers and 850 crew, as well as the ‘Delphin’ bringing 600 visitors and 350 crew, bringing to an end a very busy, and hopefully profitable, week to a close.
