The lifeless body of a 45-year-old man was discovered yesterday at Playa Cangrejillo, on the coast of El Sauzal, Tenerife.
A call to the emergency services at noon on Thursday alerted them that there was a body floating in the sea some 10 metres from the beach.
Despite scrambling a helicopter and medical staff, after retrieving the body, medics could do nothing but confirm the victim dead at the scene.
As yet, no details of the victim’s identity have been released.
