The Canary Islands pre university level academic year 2012/2013 will start next week.
Primary school students are back to school on Monday 10th September, while secondary school term starts on Thursday, 13 September.
Training courses at intermediate and advanced level in Art and Design and students at the higher education level in Music, Dramatic Arts and Design, begin on September 17.
Term will end on June 21, except for the 2nd year of high school, which ends May 24, and higher-level vocational training, which will end on June 11.
Christmas break is from December 22, 2012 to January 7, 2013, inclusive, and Easter holidays, from 25 to 31 March 2013.
Public holidays for 2012 include the 12th of October (National Day of Spain), November 1 (All Saints), Dec. 6 (Day of the Spanish Constitution) and December 8 ( Immaculate Conception), also Finally, public holiday for for academic purposes, December 7, 2012, in celebration of teacher / student day.
There are additional public holidays on 8 September in Gran Canaria, September 15 in Lanzarote, September 21 in Fuerteventura, September 24 in El Hierro, September 29 in La Palma, and October 8 in La Gomera.
