    Woman Charged With Animal Cruelty In Gran Canaria

    A woman in Arucas, Gran Canaria has been charged by the Guardia Civil under the mistreatment of domestic animal laws, after her boxer dog was found malnourished and uncared for.

    The case came to light after the woman was reported to the authorities by the local animal protection association, the AAGC.

    According to a report from the Guardia’s environmental protection arm, SEPRONA, the dog was found half-starved with obvious signs of muscle wasting and was being kept is appallingly unsanitary conditions.

    The dog was taken away and has been left in the care of the AAGC, while its owner, identified only by her initials, M.E.C.S., has been released pending charges.
