Spain Remembers March 11 Terror Attack
Today marks the sixth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on commuter trains in Madrid, which left 192 people dead and more than 2,000 injured.
The day, which was dubbed M-11, will be commemorated by various events in Madrid and elsewhere throughout Spain.
Coming just four days before a general election, the events of March 11, 2004 are credited with helping to bring down the government of José María Aznar, sweeping the present socialist government into office, and have gone down in history as the worst terrorist attack ever on Spanish soil.
