Two Dead In Santa Cruz Car Crash
Two young people died and a third escaped with minor injuries when their car overturned in Santa Cruz yesterday.
The dead, a 17-year-old girl and a man, 20, together with a 24-year-old man, were trapped in their vehicle when it went out of control and ended up on its roof in the opposite carriageway of la Rambla.
Firemen were called to the scene at around 9pm and had to use cutting equipment to free the trapped driver and passengers.
Staff from a nearby medical centre rushed to the scene but could only confirm the deaths.
The third occupant, who suffered head injuries, was rushed to the University hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
