Spanish Children To Get Lion’s Share Of Christmas Cheer

Spanish families will spend an average of 735 Euros over the festive season.

That’s not good news for retailers and is around 19 per cent less than this time last year when the average family forked out 910 Euros.

According to traders, as a result of the economic downturn, families are cutting back on adult pleasures, spending less on food, entertainment and gifts.

However, being Spain, there will be no spending cuts when it comes to the little ones and much of the belt-tightening will be spent on them.

Experts say that Spanish children will, on average, be showered with gifts to the value 189 Euros, more than half of which will be spent on games and the latest high-tech.
