British Man Arrested For Attempted Murder In Puerto Santiago
A British man was arrested in Puerto Santiago on Saturday and charged with attempted murder.
Local police were called to a tourist complex in the La Hondura area of Puerto Santiago at around 3am on Saturday and arrested the 53-year-old Briton who had tried to stab another male guest in a fit of jealousy.
The accused, identified only by his initials, J.M., got angry after seeing the man and his wife flirting, grabbed a kitchen knife and tried to stab him.
It was only the quick intervention of a security guard, on duty at the premises, which prevented anyone from being hurt.
The accused was restrained until the police arrived and arrested him, holding him overnight until he was transferred to the Guardia Civil in Guia de Isora where he will be held pending a court appearance.
