Airline Promises Tenerife To Miami Early Next Year

air-europa-airbus-330.jpgAir Europa has announced that the long-awaited air service between Tenerife and Miami will begin early next year.

The new route will initially operate once a week, using an Airbus 330, capable of carrying 300 passengers and 18 tons of cargo.

Vicente Dorta, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife said: “We think this new service presents businesses in Tenerife with a wonderful opportunity to increase exports including fresh produce, flowers and plants.

Dorta said that Miami was a regional hub as well as being home to some 500,000 people with Canarian ancestry.

He said the new service would open up further connections from Miami to other destinations, particularly to and from central and South America, hopefully leading to an increase in tourism.
