British Workers In Tenerife Complain To EU Parliament
In an unprecedented move, Euro MP Gary Titely (left) has met with local socialist councillor, Inocencio Doble, to discuss alleged brutality by the local police against several British citizens resident in Santiago del Teide.
Titely, who is Euro MP for the North West of England and leader of the Labour Party in the European Parliament, is also planning to meet with the Canarian Euro MP Manuel Medina at the European Parliament in Brussels on October 8.
In an interview with Spanish newspaper, Diario de Avisos, Doble said the matter had taken him totally by surprise and that he had no further information on the accusations, other than it appeared that several British people, resident in Tenerife, had approached Labour MPs in the UK, complaining of police brutality.
Doble himself recently made a much-publicised official complaint against the Santiago Local Police force, accusing one officer of making death threats against himself and his wife and children.
The alleged threats followed accusations by the socialist councillor concerning the misuse of police petrol vouchers.
The upcoming high-level appointment at the European Parliament was made at the behest of the British Labour Party following a series of complaints received by the North West of England Euro MP, Gary Titley
Titley says he wants to get to the bottom of exactly what happened in the alleged attacks on British citizens, the severity of which caused some of them to abandon the island and return to the UK.

i was fitted up by the cops in tenerife as i worked as a pr and in time share
and got myn passsport taken court and fittede up for an alleged assault i can say i am inoccent i was at home but the evedince produced blamed me i got a new passport from uk consulate a year later but was to stand trial forced to go to the court on the 15 and 1st of month to sighn i was still in tenerife all i can say is SCUM i did owt wrong i had to give up my life my savings the lot to leasve other wise go jail and the consulate
