Fine Weather Calm Seas Brings Flood of Immigrants.

illegal-immigrant.jpgThree more immigrant boats have arrived in the Canary Islands today, one in Tenerife and two in Lanzarote.

The first Cayuco, with 100 people on board, came into port at Los Cristianos, south Tenerife at 8am after being spotted of the coast at Punta Rasca.

The passengers were transferred to a marine rescue craft and their semi-submerged boat, taken in tow.

All the passengers are said to be in good health.

Two more small craft, carrying 47 people between them came ashore on Lanzarote

The first boat, sighted by a fishing boat offshore, carried 32 passengers, among them a woman and baby and managed to make landfall in the early hours of this morning without being intercepted.

The boat and its occupants were later towed to the safety of the port in Arrecife, the island capital, where they arrived at around 10am this morning.

Once again, all those on board appeared to be in good health.

The second small craft was spotted by a fishing boat some three mile of the coast of Teguise at 830am

The third boat arrived on the beach of the small northern village of Arrieta at 6am, just metres from the villager’s doors.

According to the mayor, José Torres Stinga, there were 15 people on board, including at least one woman and several children, all of whom scattered and are the subject of a police search.
