Police in Tenerife have arrested a 27-year-old man after he, allegedly, attacked and threatened his partner, 24, before locking her in their apartment.
The man was arrested at his place of work in Santa Cruz and is expected to appear in court later.
The incident came about when the young woman said she wanted to end the relationship, causing her partner to fly into a rage, knocking her to the floor and locking her in the apartment.
Police were alerted when neighbours reported the incident and freed the woman who was, reportedly, very afraid and in shock when police arrived to find her brandishing a knife, fearing that in was her partner returning.
