The Guardia Civil have arrested a couple at the ferry port in Santa Cruz, Tenerife, found to be smuggling drugs into the island.
A 42-year-old man and his female partner, 36, were arrested during a routine check as they attempted to disembark from the ferry.
Police were alerted by sniffer dogs and detained the couple.
Later examination of the vehicle revealed a hidden compartment behind the dashboard containing four kilos of cocaine.
The couple have been remanded in custody pending as preliminary court appearance.
